Geo-data specialist Fugro is taking a minority shareholding in Netherlands-based software company DTACT, which specialises in data fusion and intelligence solutions.

Fugro has said that this transaction supports its strategy to strengthen its digital and AI capabilities and turn complex geo-data and related information sources into faster, better-informed decisions.

By strengthening its relationship with DTACT, Fugro claims that is can develop scalable solutions across its core markets in energy, infrastructure and water, while addressing growing client needs in areas such as security, resilience and situational awareness. DTACT’s FUSION platform helps organisations collect, combine and analyse data from multiple sources in one place. Its flexible design supports deployment across a wide range of secure IT environments, from cloud-based systems to disconnected networks.

The new agreement builds on a partnership announced in 2025 between Fugro and DTACT to develop an integrated data fusion and intelligence platform that combines geospatial data, satellite intelligence and other information sources.

Fugro group director of strategy and technology Wim Herijgers commented: “The challenge for many clients is no longer having access to data, but making sense of it quickly and reliably.

“DTACT helps translate multiple information streams into clear operational insight, without adding unnecessary complexity to clients’ data environments.

“For Fugro this is strategically relevant because it strengthens our ability to turn Geo-data into decision-ready intelligence across our markets.”

DTACT CEO and co-founder Sander Swinkels added: “Fugro has been an invaluable partner in combining geo-data, intelligence and operational expertise.

“Welcoming Fugro as a shareholder gives us added strength to scale internationally while preserving the independence and entrepreneurial focus that define DTACT.

“Together, we can bring more actionable intelligence solutions to a broader customer base.”

Completion of the transaction is expected before mid-October, subject to closing conditions, following which DTACT will continue to operate as an independent company, with Fugro appointing an Advisory Board member.
